Statement from the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops:
“We [bishops] understand the pain of those for whom divorce seemed the only recourse.
“We urge them to make frequent use of the sacraments, especially the Sacraments of Holy Eucharist and Reconciliation…
“We encourage divorced persons who wish to marry in the Catholic Church to seek counsel about the options that exist to remedy their situation, including the suitability of a declaration of nullity when there is no longer any hope of reconciliation of the spouses.
If you are divorced and are unsure of your standing in the Catholic Church, please contact
Deacon Larry Fudacz to arrange a meeting to discuss your situation.
If you are divorced and married outside the Catholic Church, you will need an annulment. We will work with you through the process. Each person’s situation is unique and there are different types of annulments. Once an annulment is granted, we will discuss how to have your marriage validated in the Catholic Church.
Please note that even if you are divorced and NOT remarried, it is highly suggested that you pursue an annulment, because healing is experienced through the process. If the annulment is granted, you free to marry again in the Catholic Church.
Please contact Deacon Larry to discuss your situation, or just to learn about annulments in general, or to learn about the different types of annulments.
