CATHOLIC SCHOOLS WEEK OPEN HOUSE
Catholic Schools Week is a time of the year that we take to show off our school to our current and prospective families. We do so much and are proud of the wonderful things that our children do, not only in the classroom, but also in church, hallways, outside of school, and on the courts and playing fields.
We will host two open houses for our school. The first will take place on Thursday, January 25th (6-7 PM) and this is to highlight our Pre-K and Kindergarten programs. The second is on Sunday, January 28th (9 AM – 1 PM) and this will showcase our entire school (PK3 – 8th grade). Please come to check out some of the highlights of your child(ren)’s class(es). Also, please, please invite others to our open houses!
We are looking for volunteers to help with the welcome tables (food and drinks) and to help give tours of the building. You can sign up for either position. For those interested in giving tours, we do have a document that has talking points for you.

ILLINOIS TAX CREDIT SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
The state of Illinois has created a tax credit program for those individuals and corporations to donate to scholarship granting organizations (SGO) and receive a tax credit on their state taxes. The SGO will use this money to grant scholarships to qualifying students. An individual or corporation will receive a 75% credit on their donation. This means that if a donor were to donate $10,000, they will receive a tax credit of $7,500. Individuals and corporations will be able to begin making these donations in early January. It is recommended that if you plan on donating for this tax credit that you register at mytaxillinois.gov. It may take up to 10 business days for approval. Individuals can choose the school that they would like their donation to go to and we would love it if you would choose Our Lady of Peace School.
Families can apply for this scholarship money beginning on January 31st at noon, please not that this is a new date. The scholarship is based on financial need. These scholarships are open to current as well as incoming families to Our Lady of Peace School.
The Diocese of Joliet has created a website, weteachmore.org, that will help you through the process of donating for the tax credit or applying for the scholarship. You can also call the school office and speak with Mr. Wilkinson, our principal (630-325-9220).
There is a piano from the church basement that is being replaced. If you would like it please contact the school office (630-325-9220).
